Education Program
A visit to Pinnacles Gallery is a constant voyage of discovery as exhibitions regularly change over. Pinnacles Gallery provides a space for artists who are shaping new content in new ways. The Gallery is a place where the public comes in contact with these self-determined visions and expressions, and where you are challenged to look, enquire, and evaluate.
Pinnacles Gallery does not only stimulate and inspire; it is also a knowledge space and a place where information can be acquired. Education programs and the provision of information are Gallery priorities.
The Gallery is constantly developing activities and educational materials for the wide and diverse audiences that visit. The materials are intended both for individual visitors and educational institutions.
An important educational element is that students are encouraged to focus on the artwork and to be in direct contact with the art objects. In addition, the artworks can be considered, open to discussion, or serve as the basis for further study.
A number of groups, including schools and community, are presently involved in art education programs.
Guided education tours for groups are regular events with each changing exhibition. There are also special guided tours tailor-made for students from various classes.
Roar
A creative arts program for 15-18 years old @ Pinnacles Gallery
Starting in 2009 Roar will be offered as regular term program.
Every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm digital photography and image manipulation classes will be
conducted at Pinnacles Gallery.
The second ten week program titled digital photography and image manipulation will begin in August 2009.
The ten week program will cover an exploration of the workings of digital cameras and the basics of adobe Photoshop.
The program is accredited through the Barrier Reef TAFE and participants will receive results that recognise their skills.
